Get in front of the right real estate attorney.

Mediation Partners Group is a group of counselors who help landlords, investors, and tenants understand their situation and connect with experienced lawyers in real estate, contract law, construction defects, and landlord-tenant disputes.

Who we help

Whichever side of the lease you're on.

Property disputes look different depending on where you sit. We work with all three parties, and we don't take sides. Our job is to get you to an attorney who has handled your kind of matter many times before.

Landlords

Owners and managers of rental housing, from a single unit to a portfolio.

  • Unpaid rent and lease violations
  • Unlawful detainer and notices
  • Habitability complaints and repair demands
  • Security deposit disputes
  • Rent stabilization and local ordinance compliance
  • Problem tenants, subtenants, and roommates

Investors

Buyers, sellers, developers, and partners in residential and commercial property.

  • Purchase and sale disputes
  • Escrow, title, and disclosure problems
  • Partner, LLC, and joint venture disagreements
  • Contractor defaults and unfinished work
  • Construction defect claims
  • Lease-up and tenant turnover issues

Tenants

Renters in homes, apartments, and commercial spaces.

  • Repairs the landlord won't make
  • Uninhabitable conditions
  • Improper notices and wrongful eviction
  • Security deposit returns
  • Harassment and retaliation
  • Lease disputes and early termination

Practice areas

Four areas of law, covered by attorneys who do this work every day.

Every attorney we introduce has substantial experience in the specific area your matter falls under. We don't send a landlord-tenant case to a generalist.

§ 1

Real estate law

Disputes and transactions involving ownership, use, and transfer of property. From a sale that fell apart in escrow to a neighbor claiming an easement across your lot.

Typical matters: purchase and sale disputes, title defects, escrow problems, non-disclosure claims, easements and boundaries, partition actions, quiet title.

§ 2

Contract law

When a written or verbal agreement is broken, unclear, or being used against you. Purchase agreements, leases, construction contracts, management agreements, and partnership terms.

Typical matters: breach of contract, enforcement, rescission, deposit forfeiture, indemnity disputes, agreements that were never properly signed.

§ 3

Construction defects

Work that was done wrong, left unfinished, or is failing after completion. Water intrusion, structural problems, code violations, and contractors who walked off the job.

Typical matters: defective workmanship, unlicensed contractor claims, mechanic's liens, warranty and SB 800 claims, abandoned projects, change order disputes.

§ 4

Landlord-tenant disputes

The most common and most time-sensitive matters we see. Evictions, habitability, deposits, and the layers of state and local rules that apply to rental housing.

Typical matters: unlawful detainer, habitability claims, security deposits, rent control and just-cause compliance, lease enforcement, harassment and retaliation.

How it works

Three steps from “something’s wrong” to a lawyer who can fix it.

Most people with a property problem don't know what kind of lawyer they need, whether it's urgent, or what to bring to a first meeting. We handle that part.

1

Tell us what's going on

Send us a short description through the form below, or call. A counselor will listen, ask questions, and help you put the facts, documents, and timeline in order.

2

We assess the situation

We identify the legal issues at play, what deadlines or notice periods may be running, and the type of attorney your matter calls for.

3

We introduce you

You're connected with an experienced attorney from our network who handles exactly this kind of matter. You meet them, decide whether they're the right fit, and engage them directly.

You arrive at your first legal conversation prepared, in front of the right person, with a clear picture of what you're dealing with.

About us

What a counselor does for you.

Mediation Partners Group is a group of counselors with deep familiarity in real estate, property management, and the disputes that come with both. We are not a law firm. We sit between people who have a problem and the attorneys who can solve it, and we make that connection work better than a cold search or a referral from a friend.

When you reach out, you talk to a person who understands the practical side of your situation and the legal shape of it. We help you organize what happened, identify what matters, and figure out what kind of attorney you need. Then we make a direct, personal introduction to a lawyer who has handled your type of matter for years.

We don't practice law, and we don't take sides between landlords and tenants. We make sure you walk in prepared and in front of the right person.

Experienced attorneys only

Every lawyer in our network has a track record in the specific area your matter falls under. Licensed isn't enough. We look for experience.

No obligation to engage

An introduction is an introduction. You decide whether to hire the attorney, and any engagement is directly between you and them.

You arrive prepared

You won't spend your first paid hour explaining the basics. We help you organize the facts and documents before you meet.

Questions

Things people usually ask first.

If your question isn't here, send it through the contact form. We answer every message.

Is Mediation Partners Group a law firm?
No. We are not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and we do not provide legal advice. Our services are strictly consulting and introductions to independent attorneys and legal teams we have a preferred working relationship with. Any legal advice you receive comes from the attorney you choose to engage.
What does it cost to reach out?
Reaching out carries no obligation. If you decide to engage an attorney we introduce, their fees are set directly between you and them, and we'll explain up front how any referral arrangement works before you commit to anything.
Do I have to hire the attorney you introduce?
No. You meet the attorney, ask your questions, and decide. If it isn't the right fit, tell us and we'll find someone else.
I'm not sure whether I actually have a legal problem.
That's one of the best reasons to contact us. A counselor can help you sort out whether what you're facing needs an attorney, needs a different kind of help, or can wait. Many property disputes have deadlines and notice periods, so it's better to ask early.
What should I have ready when I contact you?
Whatever you have: the lease or contract, notices you've sent or received, photos, invoices, emails and texts, and a rough timeline of what happened. Don't worry if it's incomplete. Organizing it is part of what we do.
Which side do you represent, landlords or tenants?
Neither. We work with landlords, investors, and tenants, and we introduce each to attorneys who represent that side. We don't share information between opposing parties.
